The biggest selling singles and albums of 2012 have today been revealed by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

Gotye’s collaboration with Kimbra ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ is the best selling song of 2012 with over 1.3million copies shifted.

The only other track to surpass the million barrier was ‘Call Me Maybe’ by Carly Rae Jepsen which sold 1.1million copies.

Australian songstress Sia appears twice in the top 10 – guesting on David Guetta’s ‘Titanium’ at number four and Flo Rida’s ‘Wild Ones’ in tenth spot. The song she penned for Rihanna, ‘Diamonds’, is also at number 11.

Lana Del Rey, One Direction, Mumford & Sons, Olly Murs, Michael Bublé, Coldplay and Rihanna made up the rest of the top 10.
